[Super Smash Bros. 64 - Captain Falcon]

So... last time I said I will lie for Captain Falcon's trivia since you believed I lied last time, but, instead, I'll do and anti-2 truths and a lie, just for my Jmanvy~

1: Captain Falcon's human design was created specifically for Smash Bros 64, as just a car on stage beating up Mario was too impractical on a mechanical and visual level, but it would have been funny though.

2: Captain Falcon made a small cameo in the SNES game "Joe and Mac" where a rusted and decayed looking version of his car can be seen in the background. Can't drive it though sadly.

3: Captain Falcon was added to Smash 64 due to the popularity and recognizability of F-Zero in both Japan and the West, saying that beyond the clear contenders for Smash Bros like Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, and so on, Captain Falcon made the most sense to add to a Nintendo fighting game, especially since the fighter models in the beat of smash 64, Dragon King, looked almost identical to Captain Falcons design, only needing to change the textures and a few moves to fit him.

2 of those are lies, one of them is what I believe to be a truth, sense last time something that I knew was true apparently wasn't. Anyway, nice art, this looks like smash bros art if I'm gonna be honest, looks stunning ;)

[Super Smash Bros. 64 - Samus]

Samus was one of the 4 in the smash bros showcase, yadayada, but I have a more *weird* piece of knowledge about her. In Super Metroid, when Samus dies a deadly and brutal fate, her suit self destructs and dies, leaving her exposed, with basically a bikini. If this wasn't weird and really disturbing already, in Japan, she's topless when this happens, ew. This is because the developers realized Samus is a girl and not a man, and they got horny, and added that. And it's worse in Hyper Metroid. Like, why? Why do this to Samus? I hate people sometimes.

and to Jmanvelez, I did research, it is an unfortunate truth. either that, or I was gaslighted, but I can lie on the Captain Falcon one if you like. Also, I don't play Metroid, smash bros and blurry memories from when I was 10 and obsessed with Nintendo are all I have to go off of.

Nice art style dude, these designs go hard. If I had to give one critique though, something is indescribably off about Chica's beak. IDK what it is, but it haunts me. Also, i noticed Bender at the top of the page, or someone that looks like him

[Super Smash Bros. 64 - Ness]

No, my accuracy may be a bit off since I heard this long ago, but the main inspiration for the Giygas battle in Earthbound is when Shigesato Itoi saw a film called "The Military Policeman" or Kenpei to Barabara Shibijin, in a specific scene where he mistook a scene depicting a murder as depicting a rape, and it messed him up so bad even his parents noticed. The final boss in earthbound is meant to look like something that people cannot make sense of, the embodiment of evil, and an "alien abortion" (what that means, IDK). Also, I realize I'm going more Giygas trivia than Ness, so... Ness is Sans.

No shade but as someone on reddit said: The Military Policeman and the Dismembered Beauty story is the "did you know that Super Mario Bros. 2 was originally Doki Doki Panic in Japan?" of the EB fandom.

The source of inspiration is correct but it only as far as the dialogue in the final battle more than anything else. It is honestly a tired myth that the movie was key to the games edgy aspects and is often wrong (not even sure where u are getting the "alien abortion" thing from) because people tend to hyper focus on the shock value of that moment in a game that is mean to have an otherwise strong and genuine emotional core that really resides in everything before that point. I honestly recommend playing the game and reading more about it because it is rich with history and things much more interesting than the final battle.

[Super Smash Bros. 64 - Kirby]

Despite Kirby and Smash Bros being made by Masahiro Sakurai, Kirby was not in the initial presentation of Smash bros. that title went to Mario, DK, Samus, and Fox. And the bias to Kirby can be seen in all games except smash melee where Kirby is trash. He is one of the best characters in the first game, one of the first you play as in subspace emissary, and is the last surviving character in world of light. also, smash 4 isn't a real smash game, it's dead to me.

[Super Smash Bros. 64 - Yoshi]

Concepts for Yoshi go as far back as the first Mario games, with Shigeru Miyamoto wanting to add a dinosaur that Mario rides in the first game, but being unable to due to budget and time. Not much else to say about Yoshi, other than the fact he is consistently one of the worst characters to play in smash bros in my opinion. Also, Yoshi is a necessity for speed running Super Mario Bros Wii, the only Mario bros game I've ever speed ran.

Oh I got one: British game developer Argonaut Games (who worked on the original Star Fox on the SNES) initially pitched a standalone Yoshi 3d platforming game to Nintendo, but the idea was ultimately rejected. After parting ways Argonaut later retooled that project into what we now know as Croc: Legend of The Gobbos.

Also, Yoshi has gotten a lot better in Smash Bros. Ultimate, so take it back.
